A comfortable home is the most important part of healthy living and upgrading your heating system can be one of the largest investments made in your home.  When you have the right heating system in place you will minimize your costs both in the WINTER when you need your heat and SUMMER when you need to cool down.  An integrated system, where indoor and outdoor systems work together to give you the comfort and efficiency you desire is key to an all around cozy environment for your whole family.

What matters:   Size matters – a lot! The furnace’s specifications should fit your home’s needs.  A furnace that’s too small won’t keep your house comfortable during extremely cold weather, which we do experience a couple times a year in South Delta.  Efficiency also matters! How efficiently a furnace converts gas into heating energy is reflected in its annual fuel-utilization-efficiency (AFUE) rating, which is measured as a percentage.  The higher the number, the more heat the furnace can wring from each therm of gas, the more savings pass onto you.

Info on Heat Pumps: A heat pump is an efficient form of heating and cooling.  Unlike other heating and cooling systems, a heat pump moves heat from one place to another, in the same manner as an air conditioner.  Variable speed blowers, compressors and motors provide variable speeds of operation to optimize performance and efficiency.  Larger coil surface areas provide maximum heat transfer efficiency.  Expansion valves allow the heat pump to control the flow of the refrigerant more efficiently.  Over all, combining a heat pump with an existing furnace or other supplemental heater as part of your year round heating and cooling system can significantly cut your heating costs.
