Hydro Jetting in Delta, Surrey, Richmond and White Rock

In any type of plumbing system, grease and sediment accumulation is completely normal, especially in the low points of the drainage line.

To avoid blocked clogs, we offer power flushing and hydro flushing services. These will keep your drainage lines clean and greatly reduce the likelihood of a full-system block-up or slowed drain. We also use down-drain cameras to see firsthand how clean the lines are after a cleaning is performed. This is effective for many types of drain lines including sanitary lines, storm lines, catch basins and sumps.

Perimeter drains can also be hydro jetted. Do you have standing water near your home? Or do you have concerns about water leaking through your foundation. Often your perimeter drain is also full of debris or sludge. We can camera the line to assess and hydrojet to clear the perimeter so water flows away from your home.

Hydro Jetting Explained

You are probably asking yourself what hydro-jetting is and what it can do for you. If you have noticed clogs or other problems with your plumbing that keep recurring, hydro jetting may be a solution. Sometimes, as time goes on, sludge can build up inside your pipes and create problems. Sometimes a drain can be unclogged but the sludge remains in place, which will create blockages in the future.

Getting the Job Done

Hydro jetting is a way to clean your drains to ensure there are no issues. A hydro jetter sprays pressurized water into your drains to remove anything that could block the flow of water. Hydro jetting could be the perfect solution for your problem.

Eliminate the Clog

The process of removing buildup involves working with gravity. As the water scours the pipes, the debris that’s dislodged then moves down, with gravity, safely flushing the debris out of the system.

Blocks can build up over time or be caused by an object being put down a drain. In either case, having the pipe fully cleared ensures your plumbing is working properly in your home, avoiding ongoing problems, mess, or insurance claims!

Precautions

In most cases, hydro jetting is a safe way to remove blockages that cause clogging. However, it is possible to cause further problems if hydro jetting is done in sewer lines where tree-root penetration is significant.

Camera Inspection

Inspecting the plumbing system and the sewer lines to assess the root of the problem before implementing any solution is recommended.

Also recommended is a camera inspection after cleaning out plumbing pipes to show the effectiveness of the hydrojetting, and the general condition of the pipes.

How Much Does It Cost

Your drain clearing cost will depend on:

  • Location of the clog. Clogs in the main sewer line cost more to clear than ones in secondary drain lines because clogs in the mainline are more difficult to reach and affect more than one plumbing fixture.
  • Accessibility of your plumbing cleanout. The harder your cleanout is to reach, the more you’ll pay in labour costs. Cleanouts located outside your home will be easier to access than ones inside it.
  • Video camera inspection. A camera inspection increases the price upfront, but can save your plumber a lot of time in clearing the clog.
  • Severity of the clog. Depending on what’s clogging your drain, a plumber will use either a drain cleaning cable machine (less expensive) or a hydro jetting machine (more expensive) to clear it.

Hydro Jetting FAQ

How do I know if my drain needs hydro jetting?
Hydro jetting may be a good option if your drain keeps clogging, drains slowly, smells bad, or backs up even after it has been cleared. It is often used when there is heavy grease, sludge, scale, or buildup inside the pipe. A camera inspection can help confirm if hydro jetting is the right choice.
Is hydro jetting better than snaking a drain?
Snaking is useful for breaking through a blockage, but hydro jetting does a more complete clean. It uses high pressure water to wash the inside of the pipe and remove buildup along the pipe walls. For repeat clogs, hydro jetting can often provide a longer lasting result.
Can hydro jetting damage my pipes?
Hydro jetting is safe when it is done by a trained technician and the pipe is in good condition. Before hydro jetting, we may recommend a camera inspection to check for damaged, broken, or weak pipe sections. If the pipe is not suitable for jetting, we will explain your other options.
What kinds of blockages can hydro jetting clear?
Hydro jetting can help clear grease, sludge, soap buildup, food waste, scale, small roots, and other debris from drain and sewer lines. It is commonly used for kitchen drains, main sewer lines, perimeter drains, and other problem areas where buildup keeps coming back.
How often should hydro jetting be done?
Most homes do not need hydro jetting on a set schedule. It is usually recommended when drains keep backing up, when a camera inspection shows heavy buildup, or when a line needs a more complete cleaning. In multi-residential buildings, hydro jetting is often done on a routine basis to help prevent backups, reduce buildup, and keep shared drain lines flowing properly. If your property has older drain lines, large trees nearby, or repeat clogs, our team can help you decide if regular cleaning makes sense.
