When your middle name is “Acorn”, you provide the inspiration for a lot of jokes on the school playground. But as my grandfather, George Acorn McLeod, always said, “From a tiny acorn grows a mighty oak”.

As might be expected, George grew into a man of solid character; he succeeded by working hard, treating people right, and doing a good job. He passed on those values to his grandchildren, as well as his name – I got my start in life as Chad “Acorn” McLeod, and grew up to become the owner of Acorn Service Group.

The decision to name my heating, cooling and plumbing company after my grandfather was easy. Back in 1999, I started as a one-truck operation serving Ladner and Tsawwassen, but years later, after following grandfather George’s advice to “work hard, do a good job, and treat people right”, Acorn Service Group grew into a “mighty oak”, with a team of technicians, a fleet of vans, and customers in South Delta, North Delta, Surrey, and White Rock. To this day, the thing that I’m most proud of is the reputation we have for treating our customers right.
